In his recent Encyclical Letter,Magnifica Humanitas, His Holiness Pope Leo wrote about working together for the common good. He stated, "Building a world in which everyone can flourish requires shared responsibility and courage. No one can single-handedly bear the weight of the challenges the world is facing." He further added that we need one another, and we need to work together in unity to confront the challenges that the world is facing today.
Today’s Catholic man, more now than ever, is faced with the weight of those challenges; addressing multiple demands; making difficult choices; as well proclaiming the Gospel. Social media and civic life create many divisions. Catholic men must address such divisions and in a time of tension respond with deeper fidelity to truth, to charity, and to the Gospel.
An opportunity to do just that happens on November 7th.
I invite/encourage men across the diocese to attend the 13th annual Catholic Men’s Conference- Tucson. We are happy to continue our partnership with the Arizona State Council of the Knights of Columbus as our primary sponsor. The conference has been blessed with great speakers and this year is no exception. This year’s speakers include Dr. Peter Kreeft, a world renown, Catholic Philosopher, Professor at Boston College and author of over 100 books. His moving life story will surely come into play in his keynotes. This is a rare opportunity to meet Dr. Kreeft in person. In addition, Pete Burak, VP of Renewal Ministries and a young dynamic speaker and evangelist will also present.
Our theme is unchanging –> Be a Man…Be a SAINT!, taken from St. Josemaria Escriva, who preached about the Holiness of Everyday Life.
The Conference is taking place at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (8650 N. Shannon Road). Registration and check-in begin at 7:00 A.M. with the Rosary at 8:30 and the Opening Session at 9:00 A.M. Bishop Misko will be in attendance.
It is an opportunity for all men, to bring their sons, college students to bring their friends and have a day of fellowship, inspiration and complete the day with the sacrifice of the Mass.
Early registration is recommended and can be done online at: tucsonmensconference.org. Discounts available for sons, college students. Breakfast and lunch provided.
