The Diocese of Tucson is proud to announce that a Catholic school student at Our Mother of Sorrows in Tucson was one of 20 winners in a statewide essay contest sponsored by the Arizona Treasurer's Office. Belen Bolanos-Campuzano, a 5th grader, wrote an essay answering the question, “What Is Your Dream Job and How Do You Plan on Achieving It in the Future?"
Belen was one of three students from Pima County and the only Catholic school student in the statewide contest to be among the winners. Nearly 900 essays were submitted, the 20 winners each earned $529 for their Arizona's Education Savings Plan. Upon learning of the recognition, Belen's parents said, "We are very proud of our daughter Belen for all her hard work, time and dedication she put into her essay for the contest. Belen, we want you to know that we will always support you all the way in accomplishing your dreams. We know that with God by your side you will find the strength to overcome anything and achieve all your goals." You can read Belen's essay Essay Contest Winners
