On Saturday, December 7, Benson’s Our Lady of Lourdes (OLOL) Parish participated in the City of Benson’s annual Festival of Lights Parade, thanks to the Alive ministry and various volunteers, including many of our parish’s children.
Our entry in the parade received first place out of 24 entries and $100 for the float that included a nativity scene, children singing Christmas songs, and over 7,000 Christmas lights! Fr. Martin Atanga thanked everyone for their effort and all those who came out to support the annual festival.
Also, congratulations to two Religious Education (RE) students, Isaiah and Logan, for winning the contest in which participants guessed how many lights adorned the float. The RE teachers awarded Isaiah and Logan their prize last Sunday.
