Four out of the five sisters celebrating their 60th Anniversary of profession with the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity have ministered here in the Diocese of Tucson. Their community celebration was July 29th at the Motherhouse in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
The sisters are:
Sister Ellen Pachmayer: 1981-1989 Immaculate Conception and St. Francis schools Teacher and School Counselor
1993 San Xavier Mission School Teacher
2006-2018 Santa Cruz School Guidance Teacher and Counselor
Sister Patricia Sevcik: 2010-2012 San Xavier Mission Volunteer with Religious Education Program Recovery Counselor
Sister Marlita Henseler: (Elected Community Director in June) 2022-2024 San Xavier Mission Volunteer at Kino Border Institute Employed at Casa Alitas Volunteer at Sister Jose Women’s Shelter, Casa Maria and Barrio Viejo
Sister Carla Riach: 1978-1979 Immaculate Conception School Teacher
1986-2001 San Solano Missions Pastoral Minister
2002-Present San Xavier Mission Pastoral Minister
Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity were called to serve in Arizona in 1931. Since then, our ministry has expanded beyond education.
