Catholic Community Services is facing an urgent situation—and we need your help.
The State of Arizona has been warned that federal food benefits may not arrive or will be delayed for November as the government shutdown continues. For many families in our community who already struggle to put food on the table, this disruption could mean going hungry.
At Catholic Community Services' Pio Decimo Center, our food pantry is already stretched thin. We are expecting a sharp increase in families seeking help, but right now, we do not have enough shelf-stable food or funds to meet the coming demand.
We are asking for your immediate support to help us restock and be ready. Your gift today—whether it’s a financial contribution or a donation of nonperishable food items—will ensure that no family is turned away in this moment of crisis. We are looking for non-perishable items such as: like peanut butter, canned meats (tuna, chicken, Spam, etc.), meals in cans with pop tops (chili, ravioli, soup, etc.), pasta & pasta sauce, and canned fruit & veggies.
You can make a financial gift by clickingHERE.You can drop off food donations at three locations: our Pio Decimo Center (848 S 7th Ave), our COPD location (268 W Adams St), and the Bishop Kicanas Pastoral Center (192 S Stone Ave). All three locations will accept donations Monday-Friday from 9am to 4pm. To learn more about how to donate shelf-stable food, please call (520) 622-2801.
Your donation to Catholic Community Services can reduce your Arizona income tax obligation dollar-for-dollar, in any amount up to $987 for married couples filing jointly or $495 for single or head-of-household filers.
